Here's the lastest chapter in the story of the new Challenge PUMA.
We made our purchase of the latest edition of the Defender, back in March 2007. It came straight from the special vehicles department back at Land Rover HQ. The custom paint job delayed the delivery. The truck sports a very unique coat, the Vesuvius Orange that covers the vehicle, makes it the only truck in the UK this colour. This spectacular vehicle demands attention, be it the paint job, or the impressive gear that makes the truck a very strong competitor in any challenge event. The truck went through a lengthy transformation to get it to the current state of off-roading excellence. It began back in the Scorpion Racing, but before all that, it was just your average county 90 (07 plate), apart from the custom paint job.

The vehicle in its native form.

And again from the back

The truck was then sent off to the workshop within a matter of days. The truck was then to spend a lengthy stint at the workshop as the necessities of any serious challenge truck were installed. Rollcage, Suspension Kit, Winch Bumpers etc.

The truck is taken up on the ramps as it is stripped down and rebuilt with all the off-road gear

The suspension before the new kit is installed.

The wheels are taken off as all the components of the Extreme Kit are attached to the undercarriage of the truck.

Trustee  Mechanic, Ali, gets to work on the truck

Ali makes sure the suspension kit stays where it should.

The final touches are made to the suspension kit, leaving it ready for further development.

The first decals are applied as the truck waits for the rollcage.

The rollcage is fitted, bubble wrap comes as standard

The trucks on the ramps yet again for further adjustments.

After this first stage of development the truck went on to have all the luxuries to be installed; the fabrications, the snorkel, all the lights and interior were adapted to a challenge environment to enhance the truck's performance. The results were flawless, with the end product being an aesthetically pleasing
and striking truck with extensive capabilities.

As you can see from the pictures, the final result is a very bold vehicle, and one of the UK's first 07 plates to be kitted out for the challenge circuit.

The new truck sits proudly beside its predecessor
