Last Year & The Year Ahead

2008

2008 saw the truck compete in many popular and highly publicised events across the UK. The Howling Wolf Challenge was an 8 round challenge spread across one-day events throughout the year. This saw competitors travel all over the nation to some of the toughest terrain Britain has to offer.

Other events included Challenger 4x4' Tuff Trophy Challenge; The 5th and 6th of April saw the Tuff Trophy Challenge a weekend long battle between some of the off-roading community's toughest trucks. Competitors traveled from all over the country to compete for the title of the Tuff Trophy. The off-road centre in central Wales played host to an off-road spectacle, containing two days of action plus a riveting night section.

Manby 2008 was another big event for last year. It was a show of sorts; with products being flogged and a competition being held at the site at the same time.

Across the pond saw host to Challenge De Extreme. A very unique event that scored competitors on the amount of time the winched through each section of the challenge i.e. less time winching = more points.

Along with all these events and challenges the truck appeared at all of the major 4x4 shows throughout the year, including Land Rover World, Land Rover Owner, Land Rover Enthusiast & Land Rover Monthly.

2009

At the moment the truck is currently undergoing extensive bodywork to prepare for the brutal challenges it faces in 2009. The truck has been sent to North Off-Road Developments, to be converted into a tray-back vehicle. This move is quite a dramatic one for team challenge 90, as this poses the team with a whole new driving experience, and a brand new look for the truck. Overall when finished the truck will look tougher than it ever has before.

For the upcoming months many challenges have been confirmed. The Croatia Trophy which is an 8 day event being run from 30th April to 9th May. The event will see 30 teams from Europe compete for the grand prize of €1,500.

The competition is so intense that finishing is considered to be more important than winning.  This event runs from 4th to 9th June.

There is no official site for this years event, however this site gives coverage of last years action: http://www.4x4offroads.com/transylvania-adventure-trophy.html
